The “heyday” of Texas oil drilling began with the massive Spindletop gusher on January 10, 1901, near Beaumont, launching the “Gusher Age” and establishing Texas as a global energy leader. These early pioneers, who eventually brought to the world, oil-based products, like lipstick, tires for our cars, and thousands of other items that impact our lives on a daily basis.
